Our body needs calcium not just for teeth and bones.
Calcium is carried via blood serum to do its vital work in our nervous system, immune system and muscles including heart.
When our body can't get enough calcium it will pull calcium from teeth and bones. To absorb calcium, which happens in the small intestine, we need Vitamin D. It is produced in the skin in direct sunlight and we get it from food. We need this vitamin daily. If we spend too much time indoors or avoid sun (and we have to use sunscreen in Australia when UV is higher than 3 we have to get it through food or supplements. And to activate this vitamin we need magnesium so take a look at how that works too.
Vitamin D has a friend – vitamin A. They work best when they come together in the right proportion of roughly 1 to 10 respectively. Vitamin A is required to generate energy and for numerous other functions.
The best source of both vitamin D and vitamin A is virgin cod liver oil. Synthetic vitamins do not absorb as well. Making cod liver oil part of your diet lays foundation for better health together with other nutrients.
Rosita tastes very mild upon opening the bottle and then the taste gradually becomes stronger. By the time you are half way through you will hopefully get used to the taste.
Cod liver oil is not a tasty thing but you can find a way to give it to your child by mixing with another oil to dilute the taste and make it milder. Try mixing with emu oil and liquid coconut oil. A generous pinch of turmeric almost cancells out the fishy taste. Chase it with raw milk. It is also good to have something tart like a few blackberries to help digestion afterwards.
Sometimes it is recommended to add cod liver oil to orange juice. It does not work for us as well as diluting with other oils though.
For children I use ½ teaspoon twice a day before nutritious meal. Adults need 2 to 3 times more depending on health status, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
This is what the manufacturer says about Rosita.
    ✅From wild-caught Norwegian cod
✅Pure fatty nutrients in a glass bottle
    ✅Extracted using ancient principles
✅No heat, chemicals or mechanical pressure used in the extraction process
✅Sustainably harvested from the pristine waters of Norway
We do not use any heat, pressure or metal containers or treatment in the Rosita Method, and this is very important. These oils are very delicate and must not be heated, extracted through pressure or exposed to air or metal in the process.
The fish and extraction process receive special treatment, with each liver inspected and only the best chosen and placed in a dark, oxygen-free environment. The oil is naturally released when the cod livers are exposed to temperatures slightly higher than the ocean. Great care is taken to monitor this process to ensure the oils retain their freshness and purity.

We test every batch of oil produced for contaminants. At any time you may refer to our testing page for the test results for your particular batch.
Testing is a very important part of our commitment to quality and we conduct independent heavy metals testing including testing for mercury and lead. We also test for organic contaminants including dioxins and PCBs. It is our understanding that no other company tests each and every batch. This is a costly practice however we feel that the consumer has the right to demand the highest quality tested products.
Our ethos is to work with nature to supply the highest quality health-giving oils available. Rosita products are sustainably sourced from wild fish stocks in the pristine waters of Norway. EVCLO is a "living oil" derived from wild and abundant Norwegian codfish. It is produced in small batches from Wild Cod (Gadus morhua) sustainably harvested from the pristine waters of Norway.
Rosita Real Foods Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil contains the naturally occurring Omega fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins that would be found in a living fish. Every batch of EVCLO is tested for contaminants before being bottled for sale. Independent third party testing has consistently shown that our oils are free of heavy metals and other organic contaminants such as dioxins and PCBs.
